engage
read like i used to (ravenously)
sew more clothes for my kiddo
bake more (i want to try and master hers for solely my own personal use so that i don't have to go begging anymore when i'm jonesing for one. besides, imitation is the best form of flattery, right?)
finish my daughter's 'first year of her life' book (not a big baby book kind of person, don't particularly like the 'lifebook' type, either, so i'm doing a page a month (at least, and more for big events like her first swim, first flight, her first anything under the sun) for her first year in a scrapbook)
fully decorate my house (i'm talking like finally establishing 'places' for everything, not redecorating)
finish the laundry every week
cook full meals and have a clean kitchen at the same time
teach my daughter things
write more
buy an elliptical machine and start an exercise regimine
keep the house clean
catch up on all those movies i've missed - thanks to netflix
meet my neighbors
shop at goodwill at least once a week
declutter
be more creative
be a better friend
take zade to all the places in portland we haven't been
enjoy watching zade grow and learn
for today, sit on the couch in my pajamas and snuggle my poor teething daughter
Whew! That's an exhaustingly long list! Good luck on all of that. :)

Good luck with that. I have the same list for when I too can be a SAHM. Right now we are reversed, kind of like you were. Hubby is the SAHD and I am working. I hope to change this within the year.

Sounds like FUN!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Well. That looks suspiciously like the list I am constantly writing for myself. I wish you better luck with it than I have had.
On the subject of Goodwill, i am trying to avoid buying new crap as much as I can, so I will totally join you on weekly Goodwill outings.
And i am a SAHM on Tuesdays so if you want to explore Portland, I am there.

Sounds like you have a great plan set up for you SAHM days! I'm wishing you the very best! Congrats!

I love your list. Especially the last item!
Posted by: cloudscome | 23 March 2006 at 05:11 AM
I mean the last five items! OK six...

I could have written that list. So far I have been a SAHM for a year and only gotten a few of them done. But that's something, right? The "be more creative" one isn't hard. Somehow just being with my child all day brings out my creative side. Enjoy your time with your daughter.

these all sound like good/worthy goals. be careful to give yourself some leeway. Congrats!
