julie and i have been a couple since 1987. our daughter trixie was born to julie in 1997, and our son micah was placed with us for adoption in 2003. in between there was a bit of infertility drama and grief (on my part...). sometimes we succeed more, and sometimes less, at living simply in the heart of the city. we're also currently trying to decide whether to adopt a third child.

mamaloo

so awesome! you rock mama!!

kenya

that, my dear, rocks!

i think that you need to go into business, a wahm website type thing, and make... drumroll please... training pants. 2 layers of cloth with a layer of wool. (wool on the outside for some, wool sandwiched in between for some) and some regular toddler trainers with light padding in strategic places. some with slogans. some with funky prints. and some plain. i have been on the hunt for some and i had some "brilliant" ideas but i cant sew... i really think you should go into business, woman! i would be a happy customer! think about it!

sedie

I second Ms. Kenya's advice. I love those pants and I think it's great that you've made others with such eco-friendly and baby friendly materials. They look great!

Briana

make some fore me and little A! I will buy them! I will I will!! Just show how to do the washing and everything and I will get on board.... I would love to not spend $30 at Costco on diapers every month and then throw em in the landfill.

M.

These are great. We just ordered cloth diapers and covers, but I'd love to learn how to do these on my own (I have high aspirations... we'll see). Will you share?

supersugarstar

i saw this most adorable butt sweater today, and it's soooo cute! you must consider selling them...

Kateri

So cool!! Don't you just love wool? I only wish I"d discovered it sooner.

Emily

Ditto to kenya, I would buy them!

Auntie B

You should totally go into business for yourself. You could make a fortune! I wish I had your talent!

sster

I have to say--Z looks like such a rock star in that picture!

Christine

The wool soaker looks very comfortable on Z. What pattern did you use?

I am starting my first knitted wool soaker this weekend.

cloudscome

I am knitting my first today too. I have a ton of questions for you. I remember you posted pictures of one you knit that was too big at first and then felted up too small. This one I am making is way too big and I am wondering what you learned about the felting process that can guide me. Also I can't really believe that they will not feel wet... it seems a miracle. Do the fleece ones feel dry on the outside too? I imagine those tee shirt diapers must get soaked through pretty quickly, no? Also, how will it be in the winter with all that bulk under long pants? I have a boy so dresses are not an option.

How about more pictures? Thanks for posting on this... you are inspiring me!

chasmyn

I'm late to the party but yes, what pattern did you use?
