julie and i have been a couple since 1987. our daughter trixie was born to julie in 1997, and our son micah was placed with us for adoption in 2003. in between there was a bit of infertility drama and grief (on my part...). sometimes we succeed more, and sometimes less, at living simply in the heart of the city. we're also currently trying to decide whether to adopt a third child.

Erin

Meredith was all up over that this morning on the morning show. She was very critical of Madonna for adopting as a fashion accessory and stated that Madonna should have given money instead. I guess we know how she feels.

mamaloo

ooooooh. do you hate that?

Margie

I get really depressed when I read stuff like this, because it reminds me that the mainstream views adoption the way its presented in the media, and the media SUCKS!

Maybe a good project would be to collect all the good, realistic, and truthful articles about adoption that can be found in the mainstream media and then put out a press release or something announcing them. Something - ANYTHING - to get the media's attention and start shedding truthful light on adoption.

Tessy

What a stupid thing to say!

Mary-Mia

Ugh!!!

Kohana

There was a line in the British Comedy "Absolutely Fabulous" about mixed race babies being the new hot accessory - hotter than designer handbags. Who knew I was so hip?

People don't know what to say, and sometimes they say really stupid stuff! Who else would Zade be calling daddy if it wasn't your hubby?

dawn

ugh, that's a zinger.

Jenna

You're so trendy with your adopted kid and your pink hair.

kim.kim

She's too dark to be yours? Well she's not mine, she's OURS, she's adopted.

jana

::vomits::

Round is Funny

Oh, admit it. You know we're all doing it just to be like Angie.

Martina

Did you kneel him?

barb

uh, hello. TRENDSETTER. :) some people are just so lame...

Jen

PUKE!!!!!!! God! When will the attitudes change?

Melissa

I can't figure out how to type my inital exclamation. Yuck!!!

abebech

Entertainment Weekly calls the "power baby accessory" of "adoption papers" five minutes ago - so not So trendy anymore . . . Ugh.

adwina - insparenting.com

I don't know how to say about this, but I'm sure I'm hurt as a parent... I'm sad of this guy. I wonder if you'll ever come to him again. *sigh*

Avonlea

Well, I expect men to be... okay, I won't go the sexist route... but jeez, how stupid - can't he tell you were the trend setters as your daughter is older than Angelina's daughter?

troubled teen program

well, looking on the kids' part - certainly they are lucky because there are people like you who are willing to stand as their real parents, to love and support them like their real mom and dad. that's one of the sweetest thing in the world.

The Raven

People are stupid. Let them be stupid, and just feel sorry for them.

Kaira

Feeling good.

pinnacle security

Well that's good. You are surrounded with beautiful people.
