so i get a call today from my doctor's office telling me my lab results from my blood draw on friday are in. i go there, they give me two pages of paper with undecipherable medical abbreviations and corresponding numbers. they point out which levels are out of the normal ranges and then say, 'but sorry, your doctor hasn't even reviewed these yet and she's not in this week, so you'll have to wait for her to read them to give you the results.' nice. so i get to google what GRAN% and LYM % and HGB and MCHC mean. and then obsess over new diseases i might have. so far it's either lyme disease or cancer. yes, i know. google is dangerous for things like this. but that's the kind of person i am. i'll go in monday and she'll tell me i'm fine, it's probably just a bug. and i will have spent the week paralyzed with fear.
oh no. I'm sorry you are sick, but that was irresponsible of the dr's office to give you the results with no explanation. I think we all Google for healthcare info, unfortunately. Dr's have to know this and therefore should not encourage it. Hope you get the real results soon and that it is nothing serious.

Definitely irresponsible of the doctor's office. I'd say something when you go in for your doctor's appointment. Totally out of line. A simple, "You have some numbers that are out of the norm but your doctor won't be in until Monday, we'll schedule you for the earliest possible appointment," would have done wonders for your mental being this week. Idiots!

I'm sure you're just fine, but be sure to share the results with us on Monday, will you?
Not cool of your doctor's office to worry you like this!
